Paris,(Parliament Times ): 14th August reminds us of the unparallel sacrifices offered and tireless hardwork of our elders, said,Qazi Amjad Aziz, pakistan’s acting Ambassador, while addressing a gathering on the eve of Independence Day celebration organised in the embassy premises.The Day is an occasion to reaffirm our resolve to live up to the ideals of our founding fathers said Mr Qazi while congratulating the Pakistani community.He vowed to follow the footprints of our forefathers including our political and military heroes.
Tracing out the history of freedom struggle Mr Ambassador was of the opinion that the Muslims of the subcontinent organised the Movement even before Sir Syed Ahmed Khan. MQazi paid rich homage to the heroic struggle og Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and all othe workers of the Pakistan Movement.
Paying tribute to armed forces, Mr Ambassador, said our martyrs have established a unique history by offering their lives and making the country’s defence impregnable. Mr Qazi emphasised the need of national cohesion and work unitedly to improve the image of Pakistan.
He also touched the subject of global peace and role of Pakistan and its contribution.He reiterated Pakistan’s diplomatic and political support to the people of Kashmir who have been facing Indian oppression and he made a especial reference of India’s unilateral abrogation of article 370 and 35 A of their constitution while imposing curfew and lock-down in IOJK and violating all international norms of humanity and human rightswhile denying Kashmiri peoples’ basic civil rights.
Earlier, the Independence Day celebrations commenced with the hoisting of Pakistan’s national flag and playing and singing of the national anthem.
The special messages from President Arif Alvi and Premier Imran Khan were also red out on the occasion by first consul general Mr Adil Khokhar. In their messages Both President Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan called upon the Pakistanis to stand firm and work for the progress and prosperity of the country.
“We need to stand united to meet the social, economic and security challenges being confronted by the nation, the President said in a message to the nation.
