Rises to 1229.00 feet against maximum of 1242 feet,
MIRPUR (AJK): (Parliament Times) The due seasonal impounding of the country’s largest Mirpur AJK-based Mangla dam reservoir has been started by now as the rising trend of water level in the reservoir was witnessed and recorded as 1229.00 feet on Saturday against the maximum conservation level 1242 feet with live storage of 6.344 MAF, official sources said.
The minimum operating water level in the dam is 1050 feet, the sources told this Correspondent on Saturday.
Following the start of melting of snow at the upper reaches of the Himalayan state of Jammu & Kashmir, the water level in the reservoirs in the country including the largest – Mangla dam, located in Mirpur district of AJK, has started rising rapidly, official sources confirmed..
The inflows of water of Jhelum river at Mangla was reported on Saturday as 34700 cusecs with the outflows of 23600 cusecs from the Mangla reservoir, the sources told the news Agency here on Saturday.

Mangla: Minimum operating level 1050 feet, present level 1229.00 feet, maximum conservation level 1242 feet, live storage today 6.344 MAF.
Chashma: Minimum operating level 638.15 feet, present level 648.20 feet, maximum conservation level 649 feet, live storage today 0.237 MAF.
The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela, Jinnah and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 a.m on Saturday.
