Muzaffarabad: Resistance Day observed on the fourth martyrdom anniversary of Burhan Wani here on Wednesday.
More than 200 young people hailing from Indian Occupied Kashmir presented honor and salute to Shaheed Burhan Wani and other martyrs of Kashmir freedom movement.
The ceremony was held in the Burhan Wani chowk, where many youngsters have been noticed wearing t-shirts of Burhan Wani and other martyrs of Kashmir.
People on the occasion were chanting slogans against Indian armed forces and their aggression in the occupied valley.
While paying tribute to martyrs of the freedom struggle, speakers on the occasion said that the resistance of Burhan Wani against Indian occupation in Kashmir was exemplary.
They stated that he sacrificed his life for a legitimate cause according to UN resolutions.
Speakers reiterated that the resistance is now transferred to the third generation, Burhan raised armed against Indian atrocities when his brother Khalid Wani was brutally murdered.
There are many educated youngsters including doctors and engineers who are now raising arms against Indian armed forces and their only demand is freedom.
They urged that the mission of the freedom movement martyrs will continue till liberation from Indian Occupation.
Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Vice Chairman International Forum for Justice and Human Rights Mushtaq ul Islam, Shaukat Javed Mir, Sharafat Hussain Malik, Usman Ali Hashim and others also addressed on the occasion.
Burhan wani was killed by Indian armed forces alongwith his two other companions Faraz Ahmed and Khalid in Karnag 2016.
