ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Shibli Faraz has said corona situation is under control but the danger has not been averted so far and it is still there.
He visited polyclinic here Saturday and presented bouquets to lady health workers besides paying tributes to paramedics.
Addressing a ceremony he said the Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan smart lock down strategy is being pursued by the entire world.
Lauding the efforts by National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) he said it has worked round the clock during 100 days in containing corona virus . The situation in which NCOC has worked is appreciable. Money was disbursed among 15 million families under cash relief.
The corona virus situation is under control but the threat has not been averted, he said adding if people abide by SOPs strictly then patients rush in hospitals will decrease.
There were only two laboratories when corona virus hit which have now been increased to 129, he pointed out. If we comply with government directives then the hospitals will become deserted and play grounds will become functional.
“We have not done any political point scoring. Government succeeded in containing the corona virus epidemic. The entire world is pursuing PM Imran Khan smart lock down policy. Corona cases dropped owing to PM successful strategy. 771 cases were registered in Islamabad which declined in the wake of lock down. SOPs have not been implemented the way they were required to be enforced.
Today 100 days have been completed, he said adding the way NCOC has worked in containing the virus effectively is laudable.
The corona testing has been ramped up due to government efforts , he remarked. We all have to counter this virus in unison, he added.
