QUETTA: DG Health Baluchistan Saleem Abro has said that the number of corona cases can surge to 1 lakh around the province in July.
According to media reports he said while addressing a press conference that if we don’t take precautions at the moment, corona cases can surge to 2 lakh in July which can be difficult to control. He said we have suggested lockdown to the government for the prevention of corona virus, but unfortunately SOPs were violated during the lockdown.
The scenario is the same which was predicted 2 months earlier, our people are not following the SOPs. The transport has been reopened but the people are violating the SOPs openly . It can turn into a serious matter if the violations continue. Therefore we request our people to follow the SOPs and to make precautionary measures part of their lives.
Dr Saleem Abro said opposition is doing propaganda against the government, ground realities are different. National Disaster and Management Authority (NDMA) has provided 20 ventilators and PPI kits for the province. The ICUs of BMC Hospital, Fatima Jinnah, Sheikh Zaid and Civil Hospital are active, ventilators are available. The doctors and paramedical staff are performing their duties 24 hours.
