Brussels: ( Rasheed Ahmed) Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) Ali
Raza Syed has urged the world community to also pay special attend on the
violently discriminated behavior of Indian authorities against the oppressed people
of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Condemning the brutal death of George Floyd by the US’ police, Ali Raza Syed in
a press conference in Brussels said, let me began with condolence for George
Floyd‘s death as saying that world must notice and react in same manner to
brutalities committed by Indian security forces against oppressed people of Jammu
and Kashmir and as well as discriminated behavior with the minorities in India.
Kashmir Council EU (KC-EU)’s Chair also presented a detail report regarding
recent years’ activities of the council in the press conference held at European
Press Club Brussels.
As last words of George Floyd, "I can't breathe," are slogans of the world’s protest
against his brutal death in the police violence in Minneapolis, Minnesota, due to
Indian atrocities, the people of occupied Kashmir are constantly not breathing for
74 years. Moreover, It is now 305 days as they are facing continued lockdown
imposed by the Indian authorities after the Indian Modi’s regime annulled special
status of Jammu and Kashmir and implemented restrictions on citizens’ rights in
occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir on 5 th August 2020.
More than seven decades of Indian discriminated behavior and brutalities in
occupied Jammu and Kashmir left people of this disputed region with no choice
but to raise their voice through the peaceful protest.
I would like to pay a great homage to people of Jammu and Kashmir, who even
after seven decades of repression, are still peaceful and continue their struggle is
largely nonviolent, Ali Raza Syed added.
On other hand, there are many examples of discriminated Indian behavior and
brutal actions in these seven decades in Occupied Kashmir. On 19 May, 2020, 15
houses of the innocent civilians were completely destroyed by the Indian forces
under the garb of a military operation at Nawakadal area of Srinagar, the capital
city of Indian occupied Kashmir.
In another fresh incident, a body of a 14 year innocent boy namely Hazim Bhat
suffering from delayed milestone was found near a shooting site in Handwara area
of occupied Kashmir where Indian military forces retaliated to killing of its three
armed forces a month ago. Furthermore, a 22 year youth namely Peer Mehrajuddin
was shot dead by armed forces for allegedly not stopping at a check point at
Narabal of Budgam area. In another incident, the Indian occupation forces tortured
many people and destroyed their properties at Nasrullahpora locality in Budgam
area.
Chair of KC-EU said, it is highly praiseworthy that when police’s brutality
occurred in the United States, the EU high representative Josep Borrel issued a
statement for shock but when such discriminated conducts happen by Indian forces
against armless people in occupied Kashmir and against minorities in rest of India,
he remains numb silent. Why Mr Borrell did not issue a statement against Indian
security forces brutalities. Ali Raza Syed said, we demand EU to speak out loudly
against Indian state fascism against the people in occupied Kashmir and against the
minorities in India.
