    Senate chairman directs for implementation of WHO’s SOPs during session

    ISLAMABAD:     Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjarani has issued directives to fully implement the SOPs issued by World Health Organization (WHO) during Senate session.

    According to statement issued by Senate Secretariat parliament proceedings will be telecast live by Pakistan Television (PTV) so that media men could be provided alternative means for coverage.

    Media men will be requested to take advantage of PTV transmission in connection with parliament proceedings.

    Chairman Senate said the situation was very critical and certain tough decisions are being taken. We are not at all in favor of becoming hurdle on the way to access for people and media .Media, parliament, civil society and people are interlinked. As extraordinary situation has ensued in the aftermath of corona virus due to which we have taken extra ordinary decision.

    He hoped media and people will extend full cooperation on this count so that we could provide protection to each other.

    He appealed to people to abide by SOPs everywhere and help government curb this menace.
