    AJK  Govt attains constitutional, financial & administrative autonomy in the State,

     

    MUZAFFARABAD :    (Parliament Times)    Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider on Saturday said Pakistan Muslim League (N) has implemented the major portion of its election manifesto in four years time, which helped attaining constitutional, financial and administrative autonomy in the state.

    Presiding over the different meetings at Prime Minister Secretariat here on Saturday, he said the present government while maintaining the strict financial discipline achieved the complete self-reliance in the administrative expenditure.

    “Our mission is to further enhance the revenue by maintaining the financial discipline with same spirit and contribute its share in the development of the state”, he added.

    Raja Farooq Haider said that liberated territory is enriched with abundance of natural resources that needs to be capitalized. “Our small region could be a great example of economic development for other regions”, Haider added.

    He said AJK government had collected several time more tax to its set target after elimination of executive powers of Kashmir Council. “12 billion were being received to the state from Council but when it handed over to the AJK government it increases to 18 billion rupees”, he told.

    The Prime Minister said that Azad Kashmir Central Board of Revenue is answerable to the state government and Assembly while Council was neither liable to Pakistan nor state government.

    “It is for the first time in the seventy two years history of the state that we remained successful in attaining the financial and administrative autonomy. Although, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic created hurdles in some matters, however, we are determined to make the state as best administrative unit”, the Premier hoped.

    He said in PML-N government, first time development budget was increased hundred percent and being allocated considering the public needs.

    Raja Farooq Haider said several institutional reforms had also been introduced by government that significantly contributed in establishing good governance in the state.

    Meanwhile, Secretary Information Midhat Shahzad and Director General Information Raja Azhar Iqbal called on Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan. Minister Dr. Mustafa Bashir Abbasi and Principal Secretary Ehsan Khalid Kiani were also present on the occasion.

    Later, a delegation of MNCH Program also met with the Prime Minister and briefed him about their ongoing programs.
