Chinese PM calls on Govt to redouble efforts to minimize losses resulting from COVID-19

BEIGING:    Chinese Premier, Li Keqiang has called on the government to redouble its efforts to minimize the losses resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and fulfill the targets and tasks for economic and social development this year.
Addressing the inaugural session of the 13th Annual National People’s Congress at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Friday, he said China will issue one trillion Yuan in government bonds for COVID-19 control.
He said China will pursue a more proactive and impactful fiscal policy and the deficit-to-GDP ratio this year is projected at more than 3.6 percent.
In its opening session, the Congress paid rich tribute to those people who died fighting COVID-19 across the country.
President Xi Jinping and other leaders also attended the opening meeting.
