MIRPUR, (Parliament Times): Two Kashmiri freedom fighters embraced shahadat and two Indian occupying security personnel were injured on Tuesday in a Gunfight in Nawakadal area of occupied Srinagar, says a report reaching here Tuesday night from across the line of control.
The martyred Kashmiri freedom fighters were identified as Junaid Sehrai, the Jammu Kashmir Hizbul Mujahideen’s Divisional Commander for Central Kashmir and son of veteran Kashmiri hurriyat leader Ashraf Sehrai Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat. in Nawakaldal encounter on Tuesday. The other Kashmiri mujahid embraced martyrdom was identified as Tariq Ahmed Sheikh from Pulwama district of South Kashmir, the report said. The report quoted the puppet authorities in occupied Srinagar that both of the martyred freedom fighters belong to Hizbul Mujahideen of occupied Jammu & Kashmir. The encounter which started at around 3 PM witnessed exchange of firing from both sides after joint team of the Indian occupational forces launched cordon search operation in Nawakadal area, said the report. “Then there was a lull up to 8.00 Am in the morning when fresh firing started”, it said.
“Arms and ammunition has also been recovered, ” the report said quoting an Indian occupying security personnel. The hiding Kashmiri freedom fighters fired upon the Indian troops, triggering an encounter started at mid last night, as the joint team of the occupational forces approached towards the suspected spot, the report said Mobile calling and internet services continue to remain suspended in Srinagar Tuesday, according to the report.
