Baluchistan government decides to promote Eco-tourism to boost economy



Quetta:    (Parliament Times)    Video link meeting of Balochistan Council for Wildlife Conservation held under the chairmanship of Baluchistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan here on Tuesday reviewed the overall performance of the Forest and Wildlife Department.

The meeting was attended by Parliamentary Secretary for the ministry of Forests Sardar Masood Khan Loni Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development, Chief Conservator and private members of the Council including Malik Shehryar and Ms. Sana Durrani. The meeting also reviewed the progress of implementation of the decisions of the last meeting of the council. The participants of the meeting while discussing the potential of tourism in Baluchistan decided to promote Eco-tourism in the province.

The meeting decided to take all possible measures to ensure full implementation of Wildlife Protection Act besides taking stern action against poachers. The meeting also took the decision regarding allocation of funds for Development of National Parks in the Next Fiscal Year’s Budget. The decision to provide recreational facilities at Mian Ghundi and establishment of Zoo at Hazar Ganji National Park Zoo was also taken during the meeting. The meeting approved the establishment of 5 more community game reserves
