MUZAFFARABAD, (Parliament Times): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government with the complete consensus of religious scholars of all schools of thoughts formulated a strategy for the last ten days of the holy month of Ramazan.
The unanimous decisions were taken at a meeting of Ullema and scholars of different schools of thoughts, hosted by Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan here on Thursday.
The meeting decided that no procession would be taken out on Youm-e-Ali (AS). Moreover, only prayer would be offered rather than arranging ceremonies regarding the completion of holy Quran throughout the state.
It also decided that less people would be allowed to sit in Aitkaaf. However, Eid prayer would be held at all central and jammia mosques or any-other place where it is required.
The participants of the meeting expressed their resolve to ensure implementation on the agreed SOPs in last ten days of the holy month.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider expressed his profound gratitude to ullema for their positive role and cooperation with the government.
He said AJK is the best example of religious harmony and tolerance throughout the country.
Raja Farooq Haider said AJK is the first region, which removed the condition of 3 to 5 persons for offering prayer in mosques.
Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana, Inspector General Police Salahud Din Khan, Sahibzada Muhammad Saleem Chishti, ullema and other officials attended the meeting.
