ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Shibli Faraz has said that observing precautionary measures can stem the spread novel coronavirus in the country.
Talking to media Shibli Faraz said that the situation could worsen if Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) designed to contain the spread of COVID-19 are not followed by the people.
He further stated that businessmen who do not comply with SOPs would have to face the action. “In case of violation of SOPs, the businessmen could be fined and their businesses could also be sealed,” he said.
Information Minister said that deadly virus is our common enemy and added that this is not a problem of a single political party but of the whole of Pakistan.
He said that the Sindh government has a different position regarding reopening of markets. He also expressed the hope to reach a consensus on easing the lockdown.
He also hinted at running an awareness campaign for the masses regarding SOPs and added that virus can only be controlled by observing precautionary measures.
