    Strict Lockdown

    Azhar Azad Mughal;

    The fast emerging infected cases of deadly coronavirus pandemic claiming widespread fatalities in its wake has really become a cause of grave concern for the sensitive souls of the country. I miserably fail to understand that in such worst situation why the govt is going to ease and relax the restrictions on the lockdown.I would like to ask a simple query to the rulers of the time why lockdown is partially lifted.Has any significant progress been made to contain the virus or prevent its further spread and outbreak. The doctors belonging to Sindh as well as Punjab have appealed and requested the federal and provincial govts to take appropriate strict measures for saving the lives of people by ensuring strict lockdown otherwise they would not be able to bring the worsening situation under control.

    The acute shortage of ventilators has been reported in the whole country.In some parts of the country, the sorry and dismal state of affairs is that medical staff including doctors have no access to PPEs. The technical staff is badly required to handle the cases smoothly. There is lack of requisite will and spirit of service on the part of the elected representatives to set up state of the art hospitals equipped with all healthcare facilities in the case of emergencies and untoward incidents. The people are looking for the leaders to work wonders and save them from both devastating virus and starvation. At present, the relaxation in the lockdown is beyond our comprehension and tantamount to playing with the lives of the people. Keeping in view the gravity of the situation and ground realities, it would be govt’s wise decision to honour the voice of sanity by observing strictness regarding lockdown.In case it pays no heed to make lockdown policy further strict, its claims to safeguard the lives of people are nothing except hollow and fake to hoodwink the masses
