RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army personnel ensuring enforcement measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
Military’s media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that Pakistan Army is ensuring the implementation of all measures and working with civil administration to curb the spread of the dread virus.
ISPR said that Army troops assisting Civil administrations in ensuring enforcement measures for containment of COVID-19 with focus on Public Safety.
The Pakistan Army is distributing food items to laborers, the disabled and widows and so far 350,000 relief packets have been distributed among the Corona victims.
ISPR says relief supplies have procured from the salaries of Pakistan Army personnel. Relief packets have also distributed in 10 districts of Azad Kashmir, including remote areas.
ISPR further said that so far, rations have been distributed in 9 districts of Gilgit-Baltistan while rations have been distributed in 9 districts of Sindh including Karachi and goods have been distributed in more than 40 cities of Punjab, 19 areas of KP.
The nationwide tally of Covid-19 patients stands at 14,885 with 5,827 cases in Punjab, 5,291 in Sindh, 2,160 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 915 in Balochistan, 330 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 297 in Islamabad and 65 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The virus has claimed at least 327 lives while at least 3,233 coronavirus patients have recovered.
Novel Coronavirus has claimed 114 lives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 91 in Sindh, 14 in Balochistan, 3 in Gilgit Baltistan, 100 in Punjab and 4 in Islamabad.
Earlier The administration in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) has reported 36 more cases of coronavirus to raise the federal capital’s tally to 297.
Officials have recorded more than 3 million cases and 210,000 deaths since the virus emerged in China in December.
