DSPs-led Fresh Police Contingents Deployed At All Entry Points Of Mirpur District: SSP Mirpur Raja Irfan Saleem:
MIRPUR, (Parliament Times): April 29:: In Azad Jammu & Kashmir, the law enforcement authorities across the State including IN the second largest and busiest hub of business community Mirpur district, have further tightened the lock-down at all the entry points through the deployment of fresh police contingents led by DSPs at each above vulnerable site, official sources said.
“Fool proof arrangements have already been made at all the entry points of the state from the natural routes leading to the State from various parts of the country in the wake of the already intensified measures to avert the threat of the spread of the pandemic in the area, the AJK govt. official sources told this Correspondent Wednesday night. “Heavy police contingents led by DSPs have been deputed at all entry points of Mirpur district leading from Jhelum, Kotli, Palak and Dhan Galli into Mirpur district”, said Mirpur Senior Superintendent of Police Raja Irfan Saleem.
Talking to media here Wednesday after visiting various entry points to the district along with Mirpur Deputy Commissioner Raja Tahir Mumtaz to assess the prevailing lock-down conditions at the vulnerable points, the SSP said that only the goods and essential services transport as well as those engaged in the movement of edibles and medical services were being allowed under the determined SOP for the movement to and from the district for their officially-determined destinations.
“Not a single person, sans formal permission from competent authority, is allowed for movement through all the entry points of the district”, the SSP told while responding to a question.
Both the top district administration officials including DC Tahir Mumtaz and SSP found the fool proof arrangements at all the entry points as well as other sites in the district to ensure the implementation of the lock-down in letter and spirit. The top two officials of the district administration earlier in a meeting discussed the current situation of the lock down and the smart lock-down – being exercised since April 25 in AJK and its further implementation under the set SOP – the Standard Operating Procedure – designed by the State government for the implementation of the prohibitory order in letter and spirit.
