    Nine new coronavirus cases registered from AJK in last 24 hrs

    MUZAFFARABAD:   (Parliament Times)   With the emergence of nine new cases of coronavirus registered during last 24 hours in Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK), the number of confirmed corona-virus positive cases rose to 68 in the State on Monday.

    According to the report of state Health Department issued here on Monday, the authorities confirmed registration of 8 new cases in district Kotli and one in district Bagh. “Twenty one new suspects of corona virus, were also tested in AJK” report stated.

    35 of the Corona virus hit persons in AJK have so far been discharged while 33 are under treatment in different isolation hospitals of the state.

    Updating the overall current COVID-19 so far situation in AJK, the Health Authorities continued in the daily updated statement that a total of 1713 suspected cases from entire Azad Jammu Kashmir were sent for test till Monday of whom the results of 1608 tests have reached. Of these a total of 68 of the suspects were tested positive till Monday of whom 35 were discharged after complete recovery. 1540 suspects were tested negative while results of 105 suspects were awaited.

    The AJK government has established 60 Quarantine centers at various locations in Azad Jammu Kashmir for dispensation of treatment to the pandemic affectees hailing from the state.

    Mirpur Div. HQ Teaching Hospital, CMH Rawalakot and Virology Lab Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences Muzaffarabad are engaged in PCR Testing according to the schedule.

    The State Health Department Staffers teams have been inducted at all exit / entry points leading to AJK for detailed required screening of the passengers pouring in to Azad Jammu Kashmir and in case of the positive tests, all concerned are shifted to the nearest isolation centers for Medicare.
