The TMO office and district medical surgeon seems to be not interested serious about the possible infections spread due to continuous waste dumping in front of DHQ hospital. On Thursday members of civil society told Parliament Times that they have lodged multiple complaints before the concerned authorities regarding the poor hygiene conditions at the hospital and waste management, but no actions have been taken by the said authority so far.
It is pertinent to mention that few months ago former district commissioner Usman Mehsud cut ribbon of worth 20 million rupees waste burner machine that was lying dysfunctional since 2017. However the DHQ hospital administration prefers to throw waste instead of dismantling it. In past the waste ( disposable syringes, drop sakes, and other items) were thrown in the water channels ,that’s considered a major reason of diarrhea and other infectious diseases as well as endangered aqueous life. Public have appealed DHQ hospital and TMA to dismantle waste and ensure public safety.
