Brussels: Chairman Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) Ali Raza Syed has said, Indian new law for issuance domicile of Jammu and Kashmir (J & K) to non-Kashmiris is unacceptable.
It is important to mention that a fresh Indian government’s notification said that a person who has resided in J&K for a period of 15 years or has studied for a period of seven years shall be deemed to be the domicile of the territory. The domicile would also be given to the children of Indian government officials who have served in the territory for ten years. The new law will provide Indians legal justification to settle in the disputed territory.
In a statement while rejecting the new domicile rules for the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Chairman KC-EU said, new domicile law is a part of Indian plan for changing Jammu and Kashmir’s demographic situation. The plan is started recent years in order to change the majority Kashmiri population to the minority. Indian government has already removed article 35 A and 370 of its constitution and annulled the special status of Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019. Since then, a large number of political and social figures of Kashmir are under detention and the Sate of Jammu and Kashmir faces lock down. Ali Raza Syed hopes, world’s major countries who face a lack down due to corona virus would understand the miseries of people of Indian occupied Kashmir live under a lock down imposed by the Indian forces.
Chairman KC-EU said, purpose of Indian regime for such practices is to settle the non-Kashmiris in Jammu and Kashmir in order to change the demography of the disputed territory. Additionally, India want to damage the case of Kashmir but we shall not allow it, he insisted.
Chairman Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed said, the conspiracy by India to change population ratio in Jammu and Kashmir is against International norms and we will move against this evil plan.
Mr Ali Raza Syed said, freedom is basic element for human development and prosperity but people of Kashmir are also deprived of freedom. India not only prevented the basic democratic rights including right of self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir while it has also prohibited the freedom of expression and free travel and movement of the people.
Chairman Kashmir Council EU emphasized that this is a pretext for stopping the people from their right of self-determination but India cannot stop the people of Kashmir for a long time as the Kashmiris have firm determination to continue their genuine struggle.
Ali Raza Syed called upon international community specially European Union (EU) and United Nation to play their role in prevention of such Indian malicious plan specially issuance domicile of Jammu and Kashmir to the non-Kashmiri. He said, an effective role of the international community for settlement of Kashmir issue according to the wishes of the people of Kashmir is required.
