Khar,(Parliament Times): First confirmed Corona has been recorded in Bajaur the newly merged tribal district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa .According to district health officials the symptoms of COVID-19 were found in the sample of Mr. Zahir Shah resident of village Sheikhmeno one and half kilometer away from the district headquarter Khar. Mr. Shah’s sample was sent to National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad, which found positive for COVID-19. The health officials took further blood samples of people in contact with the infected Corona patient and have been sent to NIH for testing purpose. The district administration has sealed the area and instructed the local for self-quarantine, district deputy commissioner vowed the public to adopt precautionary measures to contain the virus from further spread . Deputy commissioner Usman Mehsud told the media that the district administration has already planned mechanism for testing and settle quarantine on several places. He appealed the public to stay at home,avoid public gatherings .DC Bajaur asked people who are returning back from other parts of the country to district Bajaur should get tested themselves on the entrance points and cooperate with local health and district admiration. As 188 positive cases have been recorded in Khyber-Pakhtunwa so far, Bajaur would be second tribal district that has been recorded with COVID-19 positive case. The district administration has implement full lock-down following instructions from provincial government.However the general masses are not taking precautionary measures seriously amid pandemic that took thousands of lives and infected half a million in different parts of the world.
