“Coronavirus threat” LCCI President for relaxation of CNIC condition till June 30th

Lahore:     President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry Irfan Iqbal Sheikh has urged the government to relax condition of disclosing CNIC for sale to unregistered persons for till June 30th. While talking to a group of business, the LCCI President said that business activities are into a grinding halt and businesses are suffering due to coronavirus threat. He said that disallowance of input tax relating to supplies made to an unregistered person without disclosing his CNIC is a hefty task. He said that markets are deserted due to lack of customers.
Irfan Iqbal Sheikh said that under the amendment introduced by the government in the Sales Tax Act, sellers are required to include the buyer’s CNIC number on the sales tax invoices. He said that coronavirus threat is prevailing all over the country. At this testing time, businessmen are performing their national obligation and trying their best to maintain the supply chain.
