Former mayor Karachi, Naimat Ullah passes away


Karachi:   Former Mayor of Karachi and leader of Jama’at Islami Naimat Ullah Khan passed away.
Spokesperson of Jama’at Islami confirmed the death of Naimat Ullah Khan and told that he had been ill for a long time. He died at the age of 80. He was the 26th Mayor of Karachi (2001-2005). He was born in an Indian city Ajmer on 1st October, 1930; later on, he migrated to Pakistan. He was, by profession, a lawyer. He did Masters in Journalism from Punjab University and received degree in law from Karachi. He joined Jama’at Islami in 1957 and remained a member of it till the last moment of his life. Naimat Ullah Khan also worked for Al Khidmat Foundation and he also served as the Ameer of Jama’at Islami Karachi.
