Warehouse sealed for illegally hoarding rice

ATTOCK: The local administration in Attock cracked down on hoarders of food items and recovered illegally stored rice worth millions of rupees.

Following the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar, Deputy Commissioner Ali Anan Qamer formed a special team headed by Assistant Commissioner Jannat Hussain Nekokara led the team and sealed a private warehouse for hoarding rice; a fine was imposed subsequently for illegally stocking food items.

As many as 242 bags of rice have been confiscated which will be sold at rates notified by the government.

Talking to Newsmen, Ms Nekokara said that no one would be allowed to hoard essential items such as sugar, rice, ghee and so on.

Crackdown against profiteers, black marketers, hoarders and those involved in adulteration of food items and recycling of hospital waste will continue not just in Attock but all district administrations.
