Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF) while condemning the Indian General Bipin Rawat’s statement regarding the establishment of concentration camps for Kashmiri youth has said that the world should take notice of the wicked mindset in the Indian military establishment that is hell bent on to suppress Kashmiris by using all possible means of suppression.
In a statement issued here on Monday, the JKNF spokesman said, “The Indian army, which has turned entire valley of Kashmir into a massive concentration camp was now planning to establish Nazi-type detention centers to punish Kashmiri children under the garb of de-radicalization”. The spokesman pointed out that since August 5 2019 thousands of Kashmiri youth aged 15 to 20 years have already been arrested and detained by Indian secret agencies. Terming General Rawat’s statement as a reflection of a fascist mindset he said that it amply demonstrated the occupation authorities’ wicked designs aimed at suppressing Kashmiris’ struggle for right to self-determination. Referring to Indian military establishment’s growing interest in Kashmir he said, “The Indian military generals badly sunk in corruption and greed has turned the entire army into a gang of ruthless thugs who keep on exploiting Kashmiris on one pretext or other”. The JKNF spokesman said that it was incumbent on the world human rights organizations to take serious action of the Indian General’s statement, which he said was against the spirit of the international law that provides the legal protection of the basic human rights.
Seeking the UN and other human rights bodies attention towards the stepped up human rights violations in the occupied territory the JKNF spokesman called on the United Nations to establish an independent investigation into human rights violations committed by the Indian troops in Kashmir. Reiterating Kashmiris’ pledge to take the ongoing struggle to its logical end he said, “Such tactics by the Indian army will not deter Kashmiris from pursuing their goals for which they have rendered matchless sacrifices over the past several decades”.
