Says thousands of people will join Kashmir march to stir world conscience,
ISLAMABAD: (Parliament Times) Highlighting the decades’ long struggle for right to self-determination the Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Dr Khalid Mahmood Khan has said Kashmiri nation that has given matchless sacrifices for their cherished goal will not accept any thing short of Azadi.
“As far as the territorial integrity of the state is concerned the entire Kashmiri nation is united on this one point agenda that Jammu and Kashmir is an indivisible entity and there will be no compromise whatsoever on the right of self-determination, which was guaranteed to the people of Kashmir by no less an authority than the united nations”, the JI chief said while talking to journalist here the other day.
Referring to Kashmir-march he said hundreds of thousands of people hailing from different walks of life will join Kashmir-March on 22 December to stir the conscience of the world community, which he said had chosen to stay silent on the sufferings of hapless Kashmiris. He said that media played key role in highlighting Kashmiris’ noble cause of freedom from Indian subjugation. In the wake of India’s attempted annexation and division of the occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Khalid Mahmood said that the responsibility of journalist community has increased manifold.
Paying rich tributes to Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas he said that Rais-ul-Ahrar has played significant role in the freedom struggle. “Kashmiris have been fighting for their legitimate rights for last 200 years. They will not accept anything short of Azadi (freedom), he said adding that Indian PM Narendra Modi’s actions prove that Gandhi’s ideology was wrong and Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s view was correct.
Appreciating Malaysian Premier Mr. Mahathir Muhammad’s upright stance on the issue of Kashmir Dr. Khalid Mehmood Khan said that Prime Minister Imran Khan should have visited Kuala Lumpur. He said after his speech at the UN General Assembly Prime Minister Imran Khan has maintained silence on the issue of Kashmir. Since then he said that BJP government led by Narendra Modi has unleashed reign of terror in the occupied valley. He said that Modi was moving forward to fulfill the RSS agenda. After Srinagar he said that India will target Muzaffarabad and Islamabad respectively. He said that massacre of Muslims in India was a part of a RSS’s grand conspiracy to convert India into a Hindu Rashtra besides fulfilling its dream of Akhand Bahart. He said that recently adopted citizenship bill has exposed India’s secular face. Terming it as conspiracy to marginalize Muslim community he said that the international community must take effective notice and help-stop the persecution of Muslims in the country.
He said that the Jamaat-e-Islami will continue its all out support to Kashmiris’ legitimate freedom struggle despite all odds. “Jamaat-e-Islami has launched awareness campaign throughout Pakistan to save Kashmir from Karachi to Khyber, in which millions of people participated. The Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir organised public marches from Bhimber to Gilgit, but it is quite unfortunate that the government has not changed its attitude”, he said adding that after 31 October 2019, 200-year old national identity of the state of Jammu and Kashmir was abolished. In a bid to awaken the conscience of rulers he said that Jamaat-e-Islami had finally decided to march towards capital city Islamabad on December 22 where future course of action will be announced simultaneously.
