LAHORE: The ambassador of Saudi Arabia Mr. Nawaf Bin Said Al-Malki called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar at Punjab House, Islamabad and discussed matters of mutual interest. Talking on this occasion, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said that Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations are linked in deep-rooted religious and socio-cultural norms adding that Saudi Arabia has always stood with Pakistan. On the other side, he pointed out that Pakistanis have a deep-rooted attachment with Saudi Arabia and the people are conjoined in the bonds of brotherhood and harmony. The hearts of the people of both the countries beat in unison; he added and further said that people also share each other’s joys and agonies. It is sanguine that Saudi Arabia has always extended full support to Pakistan on the diplomatic front. The chief minister expressed the satisfaction that relations between Pakistan-Saudi Arabia are touching new heights during the incumbent government. The Saudi ambassador said, on this occasion, that Saudi Arabia gives special importance to its relations with Pakistan and added that friendly relations are being strengthened with every passing moment. Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have sided with each other like brothers and this relation will be further strengthened. He also appreciated the steps taken for public welfare in Punjab.
Advisor Dr. Salman Shah calls on CM Punjab;
Advisor on Economic Affairs and P&D Dr. Salman Shah called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at his office and presented the Punjab business plan document. The chief minister appreciated the efforts of Dr. Salman Shah and his team for preparing a comprehensive document of the business plan. Talking on this occasion, Usman Buzdar said that the Punjab business plan will help promote business and economic activities. He reiterated that ease of doing business will be ensured at every level and Punjab will be developed as a hub of investment. Punjab will be developed as a model province for investors, industrialists and businessmen, he added. The chief minister hoped that ease of doing business will strengthen the economy along with creating more job opportunities. He pointed out that reforms have been introduced for the promotion of investment and reiterated that all the necessary facilities will be provided under one roof. The government will take many more steps so that investment is further increased and the achievement of targets will be ensured through short-term, medium and long-term policies. The chief minister told that 17 economic hubs have been identified in Punjab adding that the provincial economy will be strengthened by their development. He maintained that accelerated work is required to promote e-commerce and e-governance in the province. He also assured to provide full support for strengthening the provincial economy. Dr. Salman Shah, on this occasion, said that a comprehensive strategy has been devised to strengthen the provincial economy along with the accelerated industrial process. The government has taken concerted efforts for the promotion of investment and economic activities in the province, concluded Salman Shah.
CM takes notice of the non-functional CT scan machine in Teaching Hospital DG Khan;
Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has taken notice of the dysfunctioning of CT scan machine and failure in its timely repair at DHQ Teaching Hospital DG Khan. He directed to hold the departmental inquiry and further directed that facts relating to failure in the timely repair of non-functional CT scan machine should be brought out and responsibility should also be fixed. He sought a report from the Provincial Secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education within 15 days. He further directed to immediately get repair the said machine adding that steps should be adopted on a fast-track basis to procure a new CT scan machine so that its availability in the said hospital could be ensured at the earliest.
