ZHOB: All Parities Action Committee Zhob (APAC) held a protest demonstration at Maulana Shams-ud-Din Shaheed chowk against the prolonged power load-shedding, heavy bills and new digital electric meters here. A large number of people from different parts of the city took part in the protest demonstration.
Speaking on the occasion Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami party leader Jamal Mandokhail, president Awami National Party Anwer Mandokhail, PTI leaders Dawood Mandokhail, Samad Mandokhail, Raz Muhammad Sherani, JUI-F leader Hafiz Hazrat Gul Babar, JUI-Ideological leader Molvi Abdul Hameed Mardanzai, PPP leader Saif-ur-Rehman Mardanzai, Members Zhob Qaumi Jirga Bismullah Appozai, Ubaidullah Mandokhail, JI leader Hafiz Abdul Nasir, Zafarullah Kakar and Adnan Shalezai said that the arrival of chilly winter is marked with massive power outage, as Zhob city and the rural areas of the district facing long hours of load-shedding on daily basis. Mover over they said, heavy electricity bills are also being sent to the consumers.
“The prolonged power disconnection has multiplied the miseries of poor people manifold. The horrific load-shedding has also crippled the commercial activities. The installation of new eclectic meters is aimed at sucking the blood of poor consumers,” they said, adding they were facing mental stress due to the ruthless and intense load-shedding in the entire area. Frequent tripping and voltage fluctuation have added to the miseries of consumers marred by outages.
They complained that they had moved several applications in the QESCO office, but no action has been taken to rectify the situation.
The protesters threatened that if the situation remained the same, their line of action would be more severe. The committee has decided to hold sit-in in front of WAPDA office on Wednesday against the prolonged load-shedding, heavy electric bills and new digital meters.
They demanded of the elected representatives of the national and provincial assembly to take serious notice of the situation.
