ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has acquitted Irfan Siddiqui.
Irfan Siddiqui was special assistant to former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and he was arrested under rent act.
The counsel for Irfan Siddiqui requested that action be taken against the administration.
Justice Amir Farooq remarked “ this is your right. You can file petition separately in this regard.
The counsel said if the court writes in the decision about action against administration then it is better.
Police filed report about discharge of Irfan Siddiqui in the court.
Justice Amir Farooq disposed of the petition about discharging the case after the police filed the discharge report.
Irfan Siddiqui was arrested outside his residence in sector G-10/3 Islamabad on July 27 night this year. One Iqbal was also arrested along with Irfan Siddiqui. Later both were shifted to Ramna police station Islamabad.
Police said that section 144 was in place all over the city which was violated. Case was registered against Irfan Siddiqui under section 188.
Plea was taken in the case that Irfan Siddiqui had not filed particulars of his tenant. As per FIR Javed Iqbal along with his family was residing in the home and the owner of the house had not provided the particulars of the tenant to the respective police station.
The local magistrate Mahreen Baloch had granted bail to Irfan Siddiqui on July 28 and he was set free.
