ZHOB: A large number of activists and supporters of opposition parties including Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl, Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami party and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz blocked Zhob-Dera Ismail Khan national highway N-50 connecting Balochistan and Khyber Pashtoonkhwa as part of the Plan B. The protesters blocked the highway near Silyaza bridge by erecting barricades at different spots. The closure of main highway between the two provinces cut off heavy and light traffic, where passenger buses and loading trucks stuck on highway in a large number.
Earlier, the JUI-F provincial chief and member of the national assembly Maulana Abdul Wassay had announced that the main Balochistan highways would be blocked in protest.
Pk-MAP activist Baran Kaliwal said that as per instructions of their leaders the opposition parties including JUI-F, Pk-MAP and PML-N held a peaceful protest on Saturday. A large number of party activists took part in the protest. However he condemned the false news of dispersing the protesters by the district administration.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Taha Saleem, ADC Revenue Arif Kakar, SP Anwer Badini and SHO Haji Muhammad Zimri reached the spot to negotiate with the protesters.
It is worth mentioning that on November 13th Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman had ordered the protesters to disperse across the country to cripple main highways as part of the Plan B to topple the Imran Khan led government and ensure a general election after holding a fortnight-long sit-in in the federal capital that abruptly ended. The opposition parties have alleged the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for voter fraud and economic mismanagement. Maulana demands fresh polls in the country insisting that the last year general elections were massively rigged.
