ZHOB: Additional Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Arif Kakar has said that the people of Zhob are peace loving, single criminal FIR has not been lodged since he has assumed the charge as an administrative officer. Necessarily, everyone has a duty to obey the law but morally abide by the law is more effective. ADC asked the youth to come forward and play their key role in maintaining peace and development.
He was speaking at a seminar entitled ‘Climate Action on Peace’ organized by BRSP under its PPR project on World Peace Day. The seminar underscored both normative and structural forms of peace and their relevance with development. Members local support organization Badinzai, village organizations and people from all walks of life attended the seminar.
Focal Person PPR Quttab Mandokhail, General Manager National Commission for Human Development Razzaq Kakar, ADO Human Dynamic Samad Hariphal and Team Leader Human Development Foundation Naeem Gul Mandokhail also spoke on the occasion.
They said that the entire world is facing challenges of poverty, unemployment and illiteracy and all these challenges are linked with lawlessness. They termed peace and development part and parcel.
“Peace is linked with development, but unfortunately Balochistan has the highest poverty rate and lowest literacy rate in the country. Around 1.8 million children in the province are still deprived of their basic right of education”. They said the United Nations was founded in 1945 after World War with the aim to stop wars and the UN charter claims to maintain peace around the globe. A UN resolution declared the International Day of Peace in 1981 and the first Peace Day was observed next year. They added.
HDF Team Leader suggested that in order to prevent the alarming increase in traffic accidents on Quetta highway, a group of youth should be formed to sensitize the people through social networking websites.
