KILLA SAIFULLAH: In order to provide free health services to less-privileged communities at their doorstep in far-off areas, National Commission for Human Development in collaboration with People’s Primary Healthcare Initiative set-up a day-long free medical camp in remote and poverty-hit area of Nasei in Killa Saifullah district.
Health department, Population welfare department, National Programme and TB control programme also took part in the free camp, where hundreds of poor and deserving patients were examined and provided with free medicines.
Principal Cadet college Nasei Col. Yasir Mukhtar inaugurated the camp. Deputy Commissioner Attiq-ur-Rehman, DHO Dr. Jamal Abdul Nasir, DDHO Dr. Aliya Taran, DSM PPHI Watanyar Kakar, Deputy Director NCHD Hameedullah Meerzai, Coordinator National Programme Dr. Taj Muhammad, Population officer Shamir Mandokhail, Coordinator TB control programme Dr. Dad Muhammad Kakar, Focal Person PPHI Naqeebullah and social activist Kaleemullah Kakar were also present on the occasion. The officials visited the camp and inspected the facilities.
According to the camp organizer, medical team including Dr. Aliya, Dr. Taj Muhammad, Dr. Dad Muhammad and Dr. Nasreen examined hundreds of patients including women and children suffering from various diseases and provided the patients free medicines. Meanwhile, children identified as having mal-nutrition were also provided medicines and food supplement.
“Holding free medical camp in an area that lacks basic facilities not only ensures health services at their doorstep but also overcomes health issues and controls several chronic and seasonal diseases.” He said. NCHD Volunteer Community Development officer Kaleemullah Kakar on the occasion said that NCHD will soon launch an anti-plastic awareness campaign in the district that will be continued for several weeks.
