Birmingham: (Parliament Times) The former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir and President PTI AJK chapter Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has urged the international community to take effective notice of the worsening humanitarian situation in Indian occupied Jammu Kashmir (IOJK), which has been reeling under suffocating siege and communication blockade for last 49 days.
Barrister Chaudhary said this while addressing a large gathering here in Birmingham on Friday. The function, which was chaired by Barrister Karamat was attend by a large number of PTI supporters including Chaudhry Ghafoor, Chaudhry Naveed, Zafar Jarl, Chaudhry Muhammad Hussain, Chaudhry Aftab, Bashir Niaz and others, whereas a prominent political activist Khawaja Inam-ul-Haq alias Naomi announced to join the party (PTI AJK).
Speaking on the occasion Barrister Sultan said that main purpose of his UK and US visit was solely to highlight the plight of Kashmiri brethren who he said have been suffering terribly due to the continued curfew and communication blockade imposed by India after stripping the IOJK of its special status by revoking article 370. He said that the worst curfew was imposed in occupied Kashmir where people have been facing severe hardships.
Barrister Sultan said that during his visit to US he will meet and apprise the US Congressmen and other top US officials of the worsening situation and brutalities committed by Indian forces in the dispute territory of Kashmir. He further said that all political parties of Azad Kashmir have unanimously agreed to demolish the bloody ceasefire line (LoC). Drawing parallels between the LoC and Berlin Wall he said that the date will be fixed soon when the people of Azad Kashmir will trample this bloody ceasefire line down under their feet. He expressed the hope that the day was not far when people of the IOJK will be freed from the clutches Indian imperialism. He said that Kashmiris settled in UK, Europe and the US should come forward in a big way and raise voice in support of the people of occupied Kashmir besides exposing India’s brutal face in the world.
