UK/WASHINGTON/BRUSSELS:(Parliament Times) The sub-committees of the European Parliament and US Congress will be meeting to discuss the deteriorating human rights situation in the Occupied Kashmir following the Indian move to change the status of disputed territory.
The Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan had urged the members of US Congress’ Foreign Relations Committee to take up the issue in his separate meetings with them during the US trip. The members of the committee also met the people of occupied valley.
The US Congress’ Foreign Relations Committee House Subcommittee on Asia will meet to discuss human rights violations in Kashmir. The meeting has been called by Chairperson Brad Sherman who after meeting with Kashmiri Americans assured them that the committee will take up the issue of deteriorating human rights situation in the held valley in its upcoming meeting.

AJK Prime Minister who arrived in United Kingdom from his successful US trip, will be attending the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs which is going to meet and discuss the situation in Kashmir today (Monday). The premier will speak to the MPs. It is for the first time that Kashmir issue will be discussed in the EU Parliament.
Both committees will discuss the four-week curfew in Occupied Kashmir and latest human rights situation in the IOK.
The Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider on his arrival in UK addressed a news conference along-with SDMA Minister Ahmed Raza Qadri in which he hailed US House Committee on Foreign Affairs decision to discuss the prevailing situation in Indian occupied Kashmir.
He said Kashmir is outstanding issue on UNSC agenda which would have to be settled in accordance to its resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people. “India is committing crimes against humanity which is being widely condemned by the civilized world. The voice of eight million stranded Kashmiris being heard who the victim of worst Indian atrocities”, PM added.
He continued that world knows well that rights of people of Kashmir are being ruthlessly usurped by occupied forces in the held valley.
Raja Farooq Haider told that Kashmiris and Pakistanis will stage a big protest demonstration on Indian PM Modi’s arrival in US.
