Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Federal Secretary for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Mr. Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui visited Special Communications Organization (SCO) headquarters on Thursday.
On his arrival, the federal secretary was received by Director General SCO Major General Ali Farhan, Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military). A briefing on SCO was given to the secretary on various ongoing projects including Next Generation Mobile System (NGMS) and Pak China Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) projects. The Secretary was informed that SCO is providing state of the art telecom, broadband and ICT services to far flung areas of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
Mr. Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui assured full support of Information Technology and Telecom Ministry to SCO for its revolutionary initiatives in ensuring continued growth of the telecom sectors in AJ&K and GB. He appreciated the role of SCO in the uplift of telecommunication facilities in far flung areas of Pakistan. He also congratulated SCO management on timely completion of Phase-1 of Pak China OFC Project.
Later Federal Secretary planted a tree at SCO premises.
