AJK PM directed concerned authorities for proper rehabilitation of the AJK land-sliding affecties
MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) The Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan has directed district administration and State Disaster Management Authority to take immediate measures for the proper rehabilitation of the land-sliding affectees of Hajira Pothi Chhaprian in Rawalakot district.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Prime Minister further directed the concerned authorities to construct temporary residential shelters besides providing basic necessities like food and non-food items to the affected families at the earliest.
Raja Farooq Haider Khan expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the sad incident of land-sliding in Hujra Pothi Chhaprian.
He prayed for the departed souls and directed Deputy Commissioner Poonch to immediate compile the list of damages for the compensation purpose.
It is pertinent to mention here that seven persons were killed in a landslide incident in Hajira Pothi Chhaprian area of Rawalakot district on Saturday.
The land-sliding incident occurred amid heavy rainfall, which destroyed four houses and leaving seven people dead and several injured.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Farooq Haider has arrived in United States. A large number of Kashmiris and party workers received him at Airport.
During his stay in US, the Prime Minister will meet the members of US Congress, Advisor to the US President Donald Trump and other high-ranking officials.
