UoS observes Kashmir Solidarity Day, denounces Indian state terrorism in IoK
Sargodha: Condemning state terror in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK), the University of Sargodha observed Kashmir Solidarity Day on Monday to show support to the people of Kashmir and to raise voice against flagrant human rights violations.
The day reiterates Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people and their longstanding struggle for securing the right of self-determination. The day was started by observing one-minute silence in order to pay tribute to the martyrs in the Indian held Kashmir.
Special functions and activities including seminars, discussion programme, poetry and debate competitions were arranged focusing the Pakistan’s support and unity with the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir, their ongoing freedom struggle, and to pay homage to Kashmiri martyrs who lost their lives fighting for Kashmir’s freedom.
Students and teachers also formed human chain acknowledging the sacrifices of Kashmiri people and arranged a peace walk in which they chanted slogans to support the Kashmiri freedom struggle and expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
Students unveiled atrocities of the Indian forces in Kashmir and highlighted the sacrifices made by the people of Kashmir in order to get right to self-determination.
Thousands of students showed collective support with their Kashmiri brethren, to remind the Kashmiri people that Pakistanis were standing by the people of India-held Kashmir and will continue to extend their unflinching support for the just cause of self-determination.
Addressing a seminar, Dean Faculty of Agriculture, Dr Muhammad Afzal said that teachers, employees and students of the University were extending full support to Kashmiri people and teachers would motivate their students for using social media to raise voice in favour of the right to self-determination.
Munir Gujjer, director co-curricular forum expressed that India had been the biggest violator of democratic norms in the world. He said thousands of Kashmiris had laid their lives against the Indian aggression, while thousands were being put behind bars, maimed, as indiscriminate use of pellet guns and rape were being used as a tool of oppression to suppress their voice.
