Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) Delivering a lecture on “Role of youth in exposing Human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir”, Umair Pervez Khan, International relations analyst, said that India has committed serious human rights abuses in the occupied region. The recent two reports of United Nations OHCHR are testimony to the serious crimes of the occupational Indian forces in the region. It is now the responsibility of the youth of Pakistan and Kashmir to project updated reports of UN office of the Human rights commissioner and expose unlawful abuses, detentions, tortures, use of pellet guns, rapes and other heinous crimes of India at global level.
International personality of the Kashmir conflict must not be diluted else irrecoverable loss to the struggle movement will be caused, Khan said. He further added that casing of the Kashmir conflict should be maintained as a movement to right to self-determination. Youth must use social media as a weapon to fight the propaganda of India, but students must be responsible while presenting the Kashmir conflict on the social media platforms. Research is the core and before becoming a social media activist regarding Kashmir conflict and youth must be knowledgeful and know the sensitivities of the conflict.
Replying to a question he said that Right to self Determination is the only way forward for peaceful resolution of Kashmir Conflict. Doors for dialogues and diplomacy must remain open and Kashmiris must be involved in policy making.
He was addressing to the participants of the summer school organized by policy and research Forum, here at Muzaffarabad.
