MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) Azad Jammu and Kashmir Senior Minister Chaudhary Tariq Farooq said that AJK Cabinet will consider a special package for the Lesswa flood affectees soon after return of the Prime Minister to the country.
Talking to a group of journalists here on Saturday, he said that Prime Minister who is abroad is in contact with the administration and receives updates on relief and rehabilitation work.
The Senior Minister said State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) and Pak Army are busy in providing relief to the flood affectees. The government is providing food and accommodation from the allocated funds meant for natural calamities.
“Communication, Local Government, Electricity and SDMA are discharging their responsibilities in a befitting manner”, he added.
Tariq informed the journalists that flash-flood is caused destruction on large scale.
“The government will provide resources for the reconstruction of damaged houses, health units, road infrastructure and mosques”, the minister further told.
The minister said Federal government is also expected to announce some compensation in this regard.
