ZHOB: President Pashtoon Action Committee Abdul Rehman Sherani flanked by Sheikh Ashraf Mandokhail, Noor-ul-Haq Safi, Sulaiman Babar, Abdul Jabbar Kakar, Baz Khan Babar and others while addressing a press conference strongly condemned the ‘allegations’ leveled against Chairman Ulasi Tehreek and president Chaman trade union Sadiq Achakzai and termed it a failed attempt to ‘defame’ him.
“Allegations leveled against the Achakzai are baseless and Pashtoon Action Committee strongly condemns this act,” adding that Achakzai is positive minded social worker and a prominent businessman. He has always played positive role in the society.
According to the custom officials, on July 4, Deputy Collector Preventive Quetta Customs Abdul Qudoos Sheikh was on way to Quetta when his car was intercepted by armed men living him brutally injured in the jurisdiction of Kachhi Bag police station. However, the official succumbed to his wounds during treatment.
Water scarcity: Citizens in various localities of Zhob city are experiencing the toughest hot season as many areas don’t receive a single drop of water amid sizzling summer, when its consumption increased manifold. The city and adjacent areas continued to reel under a severe heat wave. Blazing sun has been spitting fire for the last couple of days and the nights too are very hot with extremely hot winds, denying any relief to people even at evening. The town’s maximum temperature was recorded 40 degrees Celsius. The residents complained that they have been facing water shortage since last week. Repeated complaints made to the Public Health department also yielded no fruits. Various parts of the city have been in the grip of an acute water shortage for the past couple of days, forcing the residents of the water-starved localities to either buy private tankers or pitch water with the help of children from far-flung areas. The authorities should take notice on the situation.
