ZHOB: Balochistan Rural Support Program and Human Development Foundation organized ‘Regional Workshop on Learning Sharing of Best Practices among PPR Communities’ at circuit house here. The program was aimed at bringing community members, officials and other stakeholders together to share their experiences with other participants. The event was attended by Deputy Director Agriculture (Extension) Anwer Dotani, Deputy District Education Officer Wali Khan Mandokhail, Communication Officer UNICEF Samad Hariphal, Livestock representatives Dr. Alla-ud-Din Kibzai, Masam Kibzai, General Manager National Commission for Human Development Razzaq Kakar, Social activists Khair Muhammad Mandokhail, Sheikh Ashraf Mandokhail, Zafarullah Kakar, Abdullah Jan Kakar, Local Support Organization and community members in large number.
Speaking on the occasion Focal Person BRSP PPAF-PPR Quttab Mandokhail and Focal Person HDF PPAF-PPR Naeem Gul Mandokhail said that Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund implemented and Italian government funded Program for Poverty Reduction was aimed at improving socio-economic conditions of the marginalized segments of the society and reducing poverty in bordering districts including Zhob through the creation of sustainable conditions of social and economic development. The key components covered in the project were included Social Mobilization, Community Physical Infrastructure, Education, Health and Nutrition and Livelihood Employment and Enterprise Development strategy. The project was implemented in Shahabzai, Badinzai and Meena bazaar union councils of the poverty stricken district.
“Involvement of community members in planning and decision making process is very important because it paves the way for sustainable development,” they added.
Meanwhile, Abdullah Jan Amezai, secretary general Local Support Organization Badinzai and Inayatullah, president LSO Meena bazaar also briefed the participants and shared their achievements. LSO and community members from the targeted union councils who helped the organizations in need identification participated actively and enthusiastically in the event and expressed their intention to come forward for changing their life standard in the hilly areas of the district.
