Terms media reports as baseless and unfounded,
MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) The AJK Public Service Commission refuted a news appeared in a section of press that PSC had banned candidates having M.Phil and PhD education for grade posts in the State.
A press release of PSC says that the news is baseless and unfounded and had nothing to do with reality. It says that under the rules and regulations of PSC it has no power to determine education for any post. The concerned department in its requisition furnishes educational qualification, quota and rules of the post.
PSC seeks applications from the candidates as per qualification and quota elaborated by the concerned department. It further clarified that the qualification of Grade-17 or less is determined as graduate or master degree. There is no restriction for candidates who are M. Phil or PhD to apply for the posts advertised by PSC.
However, PSC clarified that it had ended the extra 5 marks being granted to M. Phil, PhD or gold medalists and had decided to include them in test/interview which means there was no any advantage of extra qualification to the candidates appearing in the PSC.
It said that educational standard and facilities to students studying in the far flung areas of the state are not equal. Scores of students, despite being talented could not acquire M. Phil or PhD studies. In view of this the PSC had decided to end the extra 5 marks earlier given to M. Phil, PhD or gold medalists.
