AJK PM laid foundation stone of Shah Sultan Bridge to be completed at a cost of Rs 800 million

MUZAFFARABAD :   (Parliament Times)     The AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan laid foundation stone of Shah Sultan Bridge which would be completed at a cost of 800 million rupees.

On this occasion minister for Industries Mohtarma Noreen Arif, minister for TEVTA and IT Dr. Mustafa Bashir Abbasi, Zahid Amin Kashif, Additional Chief Secretary General Farhat Ali Mir, Secretary public works Ghulam Bashir Mughal, Ch. Manzoor Ahmed, Raja Muhammad Arif, Malik Ayaz and others were present.

The Premier was given a detailed briefing on construction and cost of Shah Sultan Bridge.

Talking to media Mr. Haider said construction of this Bridge would not only add beautification of the city it would also resolve the ever increasing traffic pressure in the city. He said the Bridge was being built in accordance with the report of JICA which is of great importance to the citizens of the capital city. He said it was also one of the long time demand of citizens of Muzaffarabad.

The Prime Minister said all the ongoing projects under City Development Projects would be completed. He said parks including Gulshin Allauddin Park and Gojra Park are being constructed to provide better outing facilities to the people and beautification of the city. We want to construct another park at Karoli, he added.

Mr. Haider said the walkway at the bank of Neelum River would be upgraded and used as a road. He assured that potable water issue for residents of Muzaffarabad would be resolved through Neelum Jhelum Hydropower project and the issues of sewerage and E-flow would also be addressed. He said a project of foot bridge between vegetable market, Lorry Addah and Belanoor Shah would be initiated in the next couple of years.
