ZHOB: Media and Communication department of charity and humanitarian organization Pakistan Red Crescent Society conducted basic first,-aid training for ‘Communication Support Network’ team comprising journalists, head of the line departments and civil society activists here. The one-day training held at Circuit house that was attended by journalists, government officials and civil society members. Assistant Commissioner Kakar Khurasaan Muhammad Arif Kakar, District Education Officer Lal Jan Musakhail, SDPO Ghafoor Khan Mandokhail, Deputy Director Social Welfare Abdul Rahim Mardanzai, DDO Education Wali Khan Mandokhail, Tehsildar Mehtab Shah Ustrana, Media and Communication Officer Naseebullah Malik, Advocate Mansoor and journalists representing different print and electronic media outlets were in attendance.
The participants of the training were imparted basic knowledge and techniques of the first-aid including bleeding control, snake bite, burns injury, electrocution, choking, fractures, cardiac arrest, stroke, bandages, dealing with an unconscious casualty and injured transportation in a wake of emergency during the training session. The techniques were also practiced by the participants.
The first-aid trainer Khyal Muhammad Wardak delivered a brief introduction about Pakistan Red Crescent Society, its structure, various programs and achievements particularly in Balochistan.
“The training is aimed at providing the stack holders including media persons and officials with adequate first aid knowledge to respond effectively during an emergency situation whether it is natural or man-made disaster,” the trainer said.
Neither the first-aid kits nor certificates were distributed among the participants but an old issue (Oct-Dec 2018) of quarterly published magazine of PRCS ‘Hilal-e-Ahmar News’ was distribute among the curious participants.
