London: Kashmir Voice International (KVI) on Friday expressed the optimism that the new government in New Delhi will engage with Kashmiris to explore an honorable solution acceptable to them.
In a statement Kashmir Voice International (KVI) said that BJP has emerged a very strong National Party in the elections under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narrinder Modi. The party has achieved a stronger mandate than in 2014. KVI expects that the Prime Minister will address Kashmir problem and the government will engage with Kashmiris to explore an honorable solution acceptable to them.
“Kashmir is caught in a miserable situation since 1990. The continuance of this situation has achieved nothing politically and resulted only into the loss of precious lives. Kashmiris desire peace and seek a peaceful solution to the problem”, the statement said adding that the KVI believes that all solutions to end unrest in Kashmir have to flow from Delhi and expects the new government will take measures to create peaceful conditions leading to explore an honorable solution.
“It will be necessary that all those engaged in violence silence their guns and give peace a chance”, the KVI statement added. “KVI is a strong advocate of ending violence in Kashmir to create conditions for a peaceful and negotiated settlement. KVI also believes that no solution is possible unless the stakeholders move from their stated rigid positions and adopt a flexible approach”, the statement further said.
