MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) The AJK prime minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan said suggestions would be sought from party office bearers and workers for the next fiscal year’s budget.
Addressing the party office bearers including district presidents, city presidents, district and municipal corporations, municipal committees, administrators town committees, party presidents and former ticket holders of the party at a dinner held for them here on Sunday he asked them to send their written suggestions to prime minister secretariat before Eidul Fitr regarding education, health, communication, environment, forests and agriculture for durable development and how to overcome unemployment in the state.
Mr. Haider said party workers are real assets and backbone for us hence his government wants to seek their suggestions to incorporate them in the policy making. The party office bearers also reposed their confidence in the leadership of the prime minister. Services of Salar-e-Jamhooriat Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan for party were extolled on this occasion. Party office bearers expressed hope that he would play his effective role for strengthening the party. The district and city presidents and administrators expressed their satisfaction over restoration of merit, uplifting the common man’s life, empowering the state government, turning it financially self-reliant in the last three years. The vowed to counter any conspiracy against the party or its president.
The Premier said next budget would be part of five years programme adding that it would be implemented phase wise. He said prime minister community infrastructure programme aimed at resolving problems at local level. He directed the ministers to ensure close liaison with party workers.
He said he sought views of departments on government performance for the last three years which would be critically reviewed following which steps for further betterment would be taken. He said his government took tough decisions for long term public interests in AJK. The next budget would reflect long term planning under which steps would be taken for durable development of the state, he added.
Mr. Haider said his government gave mega projects keeping in view of public needs and not on political basis, ending sense of deprivation among educated youth. He said work was underway for construction of all highways in the state. The other sectors would also be looked into in the next budget, he assured.
He was of the view that if resources were pooled in the right direction, the state could be significantly developed. He said we could have different views in the party but we are all unanimous on the leadership of former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. He directed the ministers, MLAs and party office bearers to pay proper heed to the legitimate problems of party workers.
