ISLAMABAD: Pakistan permanent envoy to UN Dr Maleeha Lodhi has said political process along with peace keeping missions should be initiated for the sake of abiding peace.
She said this while speaking in the UN Security Council’s open debate on training and capacity building for United Nations peacekeeping missions.
She said that Pakistan role in peace keeping missions bears evidence to our efforts for peace. Pakistan is part of UN Peace mission since last 6 decades.
She went on to say Pakistan is major partner of UN Peace keeping mission.
Maleeha Lodhi said Pakistan extended offer to impart training to foreign contingents included in peace mission.
On Pakistan-India borders UN Peace observers are working in unstable and worse environment, she remarked. Pakistan has institutionalized training activities with setting up Centre for Global Peace and stability, she added.
