Distt Admin ensures availability of edible items at controlled rates

By Rafiullah Mandokhail,

ZHOB: In order to ensure the availability of edible items at controlled rates and curbing the profiteering tendency during the Holy month of Ramadan, the district administration has started an anti-profiteering drive here.

On the special directive of Deputy Commissioner Taha Saleem, Assistant Commissioner Abdul Wali Kakar, Assistant Commissioner Sheikh Asmatullah Mandokhail, Tehsildar Mehtab Shah Ustrana, Naib Tehsildar Sadiq Hariphal, police and Levies personnel paid a surprise visit to bazaar and checked the quality of commodities and official price list ‘Narkhnama’. The officials also visited ‘Sasta Bazaar’ established near Tehsil office to provide basic amenities on subsidize rates.

Assistant Commissioner on the occasion said that all-out efforts would be made to facilitate the people in the fasting month and no one would be allowed to exploit people in the name of profit, he said.

“The authorities concerned should be more vigilant and take strict action against the illegal profiteering indiscriminately to curb the menace”. He directed.

He said that selling of food items at higher rates would not be tolerated. The administration would continue its monitoring to provide the masses with quality products at fixed prices.

“The rate list should be placed on the visible corner of the shops, if not it would be considered as a violation. Strict action would be taken against profiteers and those found guilty of selling substandard food items”. He warned.

It is worth mentioning that the Holy month of Ramadan teaches us to practice justice, piety, self-discipline, self-control and fairness in the society but the sellers here have increased the prices of essential commodities to gain maximum profit during Ramadan.
