World acknowledges Pakistan’s weapons are secure: Shah Mehmood Qureshi


TOKYO:     Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said world acknowledges Pakistan weapons are secure and it has no aggressive designs.

He said this on conclusion of 3-day visit to Japan Wednesday. This is first visit to Japan by any FM of Pakistan after seven years.

FM briefed Japanese leadership about economic reforms in Pakistan. He also expressed mechanism for restoration of ties between Pakistan and Japan.

Qureshi said Japan has become a big economic power after second world war. Japan wants to relocate its industry to other countries. “ Talks were held for relocating Japan industry from China to Pakistan. I have invited Japan to set up its industries in Pakistan.

Qureshi said he informed Japanese foreign minister about steps against money laundering.

He said “ Pakistan is a responsible nuclear power. We have no aggressive designs. World acknowledges Pakistan weapons are safe.

He remarked “ agriculture income is being affected for want of food processing industry.

“I have discussed with Japanese leadership at length FATF issue. The matters related to removal of Pakistan from FATF grey list and choking bankrolling to terrorists also came under discussion with Japanese leadership”, he added.
