A day after a major reshuffle in federal cabinet, Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday hinted at more changes in his cabinet, and he told Punjab and KP chief ministers to put their respective teams under the scanner.Addressing a rally here in erstwhile Orakzai Agency, he warned the ministers of being replaced if they failed to perform.

The prime minister asked KP chief minister to keep an eye on his team. The rulers would be held accountable by Allah Almighty for the sufferings of the poor people for not affording their children’s education, medical treatment in government hospitals and sudden increase in prices of the medicine.

It seems that timing of this reshuffle was not appropriate because government is about to present its budget in coming months. It will add uncertainty if the proper steps will not be taken. The new Finance Minister will take some time to properly understand the economic conditions. This reshuffle in the federal cabinet shows the government has realized that all was not going well in the country and in the past eight months economic performance had been very poor. PTI leadership has raised the expectations of the people with its lofty claims and unrealistic promises. PTI-led governments in the center and in the provinces need to improve their performances otherwise it will face tougher situation in future. PTI leadership also needs to improve its decision making process because frequent changes will cause the wastage of the precious time and resources of the country.
