AJK PM calls for unity, sectarian harmony to defeat anti-Pakistan elements

BAGH:    (Parliament Times)       The AJK Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan has underscored the need for evolving unity, co-existence, and sectarian harmony to defeat the anti-Pakistan elements.

Addressing the death anniversary of late Major Retd. Sardar Muhammad Ayub here on Monday he said we would have to follow the Islamic teachings in letter and spirit and break the idols of regionalism and fraternities (bradries). He said as a true Muslims we need to take good care of rights of fellow Muslims side by side worshiping of God.

The Premier said present Legislative Assembly had the honor of making “Khatm-e-Naboowat” as part of the constitution. It is a success for us here and hereafter. He believed that we can not be good Muslims until we love Holy Prophet more than our parents and children.

He said Major Ayub was a man of integrity who without any fear or pressure presented the resolution of Khatm-e-Naboowat.

He said we should take good care of rights of minorities. He announced that Bagh University would be named after Major Sardar Muhammad Ayub and said necessary legislative would be carried out in this connection.

He said Bagh was city of many historic personalities who played great role in Kashmir liberation struggle.

He said he learnt a lot in politics from Sardar Muhammad Abdul Qayyum Khan. PML-N workers are great asset to the party who have to contribute their part in state’s affairs, he added.

He affirmed that local bodies elections would be held at all costs adding that had there not cases in court on new constituencies the elections would have been held by now. He said if local bodies elections were held the people’s capabilities and eligibility would be tested.

Meanwhile addressing the concluding ceremony of Bagh Spring Festival on Monday the Prime Minister we are fully confident on the professional capabilities of our armed forces. Our forces are in many ways better than Indian armed forces, he stated. He appreciated the performance of the army in the festival. The colourful programmes presented by armed forces and children provided great entertainment to the people of Bagh, he remarked. He assured that his government would provide all necessary funding for sports activities in Bagh.

He congratulated the organizers for holding splendid arrangements in cooperation with civilians and armed forces for the festival.

There is enormous talent in our children; all they needed is a proper atmolsphere to exploit it, he observed. He assured that problems faced to the people of Bagh would resulted in consultation with Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas and Sardar Mir Akbar Khan.

On this occasion special services group of armed forces displayed gymnastic, karate, dance of horses and other sports and gave salami on army band. Police contingent presented Arfana Kalam on band. Paragliding demonstrations were also held. Armed forces jawans land in the ground through parachute.

The Prime Minister gave away shields to the organizing committee members on organizing the event nicely. Minister Sardar Mir Akbar and Brigadier Commander Amjad Iqbal presented souviner.
